On the 23rd of February 2020, our red wine Val dos Reys 2017 shone in the International MUNDUS Vini Contest, being awarded a gold medal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MUNDUS Vini International Contest<\/a>, held in Germany, was founded by Meininger Verlag about 19 years ago and is currently one of the most important wine contests in the world and the more than 12,000 submissions to the contest are the proof of its greatness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All wines that are submitted to this contest are evaluated using the 100 points system of the International Organization of Vine and Wine and this event takes place in two seasons: Spring and Summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MUNDUS Vini<\/a> has the particularity that all medal winners have the opportunity to go to the biggest wine and spirits fair: ProWein<\/strong>, which takes place in D\u00fcsseldorf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Once again, it was exciting to see how the new event would be shown. The Spring Tasting is a good indicator of the quality of the wines that reach the market.”<\/p> Christian Wolf, Director Degustation <\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

One of the most awarded countries in Europe in the International Competition<\/a> was Italy with a total of 658 medals, followed by Spain. Portugal had a total of 286 medals between Silver, Gold and Grand Gold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The jury of tasters comes from more than 54 countries, totaling about 268 people and the blind tests took place between the 18th to the 23rd of February 2020 in Neustadt, Germany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During those days our Val dos Reys 2017<\/a> red wine was tasted and savored, ending the contest with a beautiful gold medal of which we are very proud. All the work in the process of creating this product is finally paying off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The taste of the judges found that Val dos Reys 2017<\/a> had potential, it is a complex and quite harmonious wine. In addition, in its smell, there were notes of red fruits and spices, as well as the wood where it aged (during six months).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visually, it is a clear wine with a graceful color. Intense in its smell, its quality flood during its tasting, where – according to experts – it was genuine and intense, with a persistent flavor in the mouth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is, of course, one of the creations we are most proud of. Val dos Reys 2017<\/strong> is especially recommended with red meats and intense cheeses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
